Festival: Waterfront Festival 2012 |
|
| If there’s one festival in the UK WAITT Unsigned are always stoked to roll up at it’s Nottingham’s Waterfront Festival. Every year the chaps at Audacious Face, I’m Not From London, The Maze, LeftLion, Castle Rock and The Canalhouse get together to raise money for incredible charities and put on a kickass show in the process. This year those charitable souls were helping out Nottingham Hospit... |

Festival: Wychwood Festival 2012 |
|
| In the run up to Wychwood Festival 2012 the weather did not look like it was on the festivals side. Luckily, when it came time for the festival to open its gates for its 8th year, both the sunshine and the fans came flooding in.
After cementing ourselves as Cheltenham’s finest woodsmen over in the campsite it was time to go and check out some fresh unsigned talent over on the Pomme Stage. The first act on the bill, was the aptly titled Touch Of The Su... |

EP Review: Chasing Skylines - Hour Glass Lives |
|
| Chasing Skyline's Hour Glass Lives has been one of the most anticipated releases of 2012 and from the get go it’s an EP that sounds like it just can’t wait to get out of the starting gate.
Opener Rescue Me sees the band striking hard with their trademark blend of hard rock and anthemic vocals. It’s a track that has a real sense of maturity woven into its song structure, a song that epitomises the continuous progression this Birmingh... |

Album Review: Timothy J Simpson - You'll Be Alright In Florida... |
|
| You’ll Be Alright In Florida... is a true lesson in progression. Prior to this adventurous record Timothy J Simpson could often be found in most Nottinghamshire venues crooning with his acoustic guitar and unique lyrical arsenal. Fittingly his previous release Our Glorious Hero Battles The Man captures that era of Timothy J Simpson quite perfectly. These days though you’re likely to see as much of an active musical presence from Simpson as before, but with a b... |

EP Review: Nimmo and The Gauntletts - Young Light |
|
| Nimmo and The Gauntletts are a different proposition live to on record. Whilst the band I saw command a sweaty Saturday-night crowd in the back room of The Finsbury two weeks ago were loose, urgent, swaggering heart-on-sleeve heroes, recorded the band are more considered, and more polished. After getting the train home and spinning the record for the first time, I felt that I wanted a little more of the free-flowing, exuberant energy of the live show. But recording is a different disciplin... |

EP Review: Violet - The Brightside |
|
| Derby’s Violet are the talk of the town lately. Their fan base just seems to keep sky rocketing with every crushing live performance and every exceptional music release, so we thought it was about time we checked out their latest release The Brightside EP.
Armed with a seven strong army of musicians and vocalists it is of little wonder that The Brightside and Violet alike are receiving as much attention as they are. What’s refreshing about this particular East Midlands ... |

Album Review: Great Cynics - Don't Need Much |
|
| London’s Great Cynics first came to WAITT Unsigned’s ears a couple of years back at Nottingham’s Speakeasy (now Horn In Hand). Back then our favourite acousto-punk trio were just ‘Cynics’ and just one catchy as hell individual– Giles Bidder.
Since that show WAITT’s followed Great Cynics progression into what can only be described as one of the hottest bands of 2011.
Don’t Need Much picks up where GC’s stellar ... |
